I never liked cream cheese and jelly sandwiches until I became an adult. Likewise with asparagus. Speaking of food, I went to the Greenmarket last Saturday at the Municipal Parking Lot in St. George and got the best, ripe tomatoes, just like the kind that my father used to grow in our yard in Huguenot. Does anyone else like tomato and (sorry all, dare i say it?)mayonnaise sandwiches? The best way to have them is to pluck the tomato while it is still on the vine in the the hot August sun, wash it, slice it up put it on white bread, slather mayonnaise on the bread and grind up some pepper. It is the most delicious thing you can have in the late summer. Also at the greenmarket I bought peach and apple pies that were magnificent.
Just thought I'd pass it on.
