The following list could be called “Music for Runners”. Twenty years ago, when I first started running, I was having a problem getting through the “getting in shape” to get in shape stage. A friend of mine suggested I run listening to music and generated a cassette tape for me to listen to. I call it “Jack’s Marathoner”.

1. The Kingston Trio: “Scotch and Soda”

2. W.A. Mozart: “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”

3. Tom T. Hall: “The Old Time Cowboy”

4. Cab Calloway: “Blues in the Night”

5. Tchaikovsky: “1812 Overture”

6. Elvis Presley: “Heartbreak Hotel”

7. Booker T.: “Green Onions”

8. George M. Cohan: “Yankee Doodle Dandy”

9. Rossini: “William Tell Overture”

10. .Vaughn Monroe: “Ghost Riders in the Sky”

A pretty eclectic mix, but it really works when you’re hitting the wall at mile 20!
