The catch is: some of the glasses (they look like the cardboard ones they used to give out at the "3D" movies) that were sold were tested and found not to be suitable eye protection for the eclipse...they let uv rays thru. People were warned to check their glasses out with a simple test: if you could see through them in normal day light like a pair of very dark sunglasses, they failed the test and could lead to blindness if one looked directly at the sun. To pass the test, you were not supposed to see anything when you put them on in normal daylight.
Mine passed the test, but I didn't see anything anyway. Do you think I got ripped off?
