Donna there has been many questions, discussions, studies, opinions, research & some conclusions over many years about dioxin and it's association with herbicides/insecticides and other chemicals compositions including but not limited to agent orange.
Dioxin shows uP LOTS more than people would imagine -
The rise in the level of porphyrins indicated by the association of dioxin to herbicides/ insecticides is what caught my interest and has been one of big concern to me in relation to my sons health problems.
Some of the information I have read since my sons shocking diagnosis and the references to the harmful results of being exposed to dioxin and it's associations is one of the main reasons I/we keep questioning the connection between herbicides/insecticides and my sons porphyria. He has been diagnosed with having porphyria - the type is in question & again in process of being confirmed by a Porphyria Specialist & a Porphyria Research Doctor whom I've been in communication with for a little over a year now.
Acute Intermittent Porphyria (AIP) and Porphyria Cutanea Tarda (PCT) have many mirrored properties, one of the exceptions being the skin rash in a PCT attack. My son does not get the skin rash "Thank God" but much of his other symptoms are the same. Recently it's been noted by some that not all PCT sufferers have been know to get visible (horrible)rash during an PCT attack.

So now u'all can understand a bit more about my curiosity/concerns/fear about DDT & other chemicals used to spray all those beautiful lush woodsy surroundings we live/d in the middle of on SI...the "mosquito man" with his pied pipe effect and so called "magical mist" we now know could have caused many health problems & possibly death.
Sorry for the longggggggggg post but to split it uP would be a pain in the keyboard
Curious to know if any other Staten Islander's deal with porphyria in their life.
