In the mid to late seventies, my friends and I would meet up at the Midway Diner after a night of carousing or a date.

The owner (forget his name) and his old assistant (we called him "Pops"), used to wait for us, even after closing the diner - they knew we would eventually show up. The menu at 2-3 Saturday or Sunday morning was hamburgers, french fries, eggs and toast.
