I heard or read somewhere within the past couple of weeks that the U.S. has 70% of the lawyers in the whole world. Is this the case because we are such a litigious society, or have we become a litigious society because there are so many lawyers sitting around encouraging us to sue somebody?
Do I remember or do I not remember a time when attorneys didn't buy radio and TV time? The ads must work, I guess. Some of those ambulances are being caught.
Here in the Washington area there sure are lots of lawyers. Here's my definition of a good lawyer: an attorney who doesn't refer to him/herself as Esquire. That sounds to me like a title that should rather be applied to Mr. Pickwick.
