Yes I remember Mrs. Ells. She had cards, candy, spaulding rubber balls and stick ball bats and I think she also sold some sewing supplies like wool for knitting and stuff. I grew up on Burden Ave. where the Casa Novas use to be. I remember the candy store next to St. Rochs. Do you remember there Bazaars? Then there use to be Al's Candy Store on the corner of Richmond and Rainbow. Mrs. Ell I believe was in a concentration camp in Germany when she was a girl. The last time I seen her was at the Doctors Hosp in the 70's. My grandfather was in the hosp at the same time her husband was. She was taking the bus so I started driving her there and back. At the time she also had cancer Let me tell you she was one wise and strong woman.
