Made a decision - Partition Question Harry White Harry da Hammer email@example.com
I think the partition issue began when the operating system could only go so high on disk addresses and hardware had exceeded the operating systems capability. The answer was to fool the operating system into thinking that there were more physical drives. Now that the operating system has caught up I no longer see the need. I do agree that it is wise to separate programs from data and that can be done with a PROGRAMS directory and a DOCUMENTS directory. The advantage to this is it is then relatively easy to back up all of your documents by copying your documents directory to an external drive for safe keeping.
