Keep at it. My son tried to put on weight for football every year. His real problem was that he wrestled in the winter, and tried to lose weight every year for that. He wrestled at 160 and never could get heavier than 175. He was one of the quickest, and lightest offensive lineman in the league. He really tried to put on weight for his senior year. Started right after wrestling was over in March of his junior year. By football season he was at 175 again! By the end of the season, he managed to get to about 184, just in time to wrestle. He never had trouble losing weight (high metabolism, I guess) and managed to get back to 160 for wrestling again.
