Lets get really nostalgic now! Al Gallagher Algal algal@mindspring.com
Harry,
The tune "Shaving Cream" brought back some memories. The verses I remember are:
When I was in France with the army
One day I looked into my kit
I thought I would find me a sandwich
But the darn thing was loaded with
Shaving Cream, be nice and clean
Shave every day and you'll always look keen.
An old lady died in her bathtub
She died of a terrible fit
In order to fulfill her wishes
She was buried in six feet of
Shaving Cream, be nice and clean
Shave every day and you'll always look keen.
A baby fell out of the window
You'd think that her head would be split
But goo luck was with her that morning
She fell in a barrel of
Shaving Cream, be nice and clean
Shave every day and you'll always look keen.
There were a couple of other verses but that is the best this 60 year old memory can do.
I remember listening to that song on my grandmothers phonograph (78 speed) in Stapleton (Sand St.) in the late 40's.
Thanks for the memories
Al Gallagher
