Sipoet1 made me think of a show from the 60's (maybe early 70's) called "An American Family" on PBS. This was the precursor to Big Brother that has mostly been forgotten. The Loud family (husband, wife, 2 sons, daughter I think) were basically followed around in their own home for over a month by cameramen, peering into the fibers of their relationships. One son, Lance Loud, eventually "outted" himself as homosexual, and as the show developed the parents' relationship deteriorated toward divorce. Lance ended up with a column in Rolling Stone, as I remember. This was groundbreaking television, and it was much closer to an accurate examination of the nuclear family and interpersonal relationships than Big Brother or Survivor could ever hope to be.
