Fiske Boler are Norwegian fish balls. They are usually served in a white bechemel sauce along with peeled boiled potatos. (white on white, so to speak.) I know the scungeli would probably not be served blandly so the "gumbo" would be so far from what anyone would want that I thought it would be funny just to mention it.
You mean you never had Fiske Boler? I've had scungeli. I can't admit to tolerating lutefisk....or even wanting to be in the house when it was cooking.
