STATEN ISLAND'S ISLANDS - Here They Are C Connelly mcgil firstname.lastname@example.org
My great-grandfather worked in a shipyard on Hoffman's Island in the late 1800's -- early 1900's. The legend goes that he was working in the shipyard when the Presidential (Teddy Roosevelt) yacht limped in for repairs. When he saw the President's daughter, Alice, getting off the yacht he said if he ever had a daughter he would name her Alice. When his first daughter was born in 1903, he named her Alice.
