S.I. trip Marguerite Rivas sipoet sipoet1@aol.com Ron,
I'm glad your mom is doing fine. I am so glad that you seemed to enjoy your expedition. You need a little imagination (well, maybe a lot) to see the beauty, but it's there. I envy your garbage dump tour. I haven't done that yet, though I had the opportunity some months back.

I went to mariner's marsh today. It's next to the old Arlington train yard. It used to be a dumping ground up until a few years ago when some folks formed a conservancy and with the parks dept. restored it. Oh the wildflowers were magnificent: viburnum, pickerel, purple and luxurious. I could go on. And the earth, the beautiful StatNisland soil, mulchy near the pin oaks, marshy near the ponds and red clay elsewhere, all in a small area. I love this island. Couldya tell?
You have to have imagination, though.

Anyway, glad your trip went well.
Marguerite
