Free Speech? Brian Cullen Ace328bc firstname.lastname@example.org
Here's a different twist on a subject I've posted on before. I read in the St Pete Times that a boy aged 12, I believe, had a shirt taken from him by the local police (I think in Ohio) because it was "obscene". It featured a band (I use the term loosely) called "Insane Clown Posse" and had a logo stating, "Merry F**king Christmas, B**ch!" The boy (read: "his parents") sued the city and received an apology from the chief of police AND a $7500 settlement. Now those of you who read my posts know I am firmly on the side of musical freedom in regard to lyrics, slogans, etc. But was an apology and cash necessary to settle this? Comments?
