SI safe haven? Charles Evans Cron email@example.com
I know a few S.I. women that have "bridge phobias" to varying degrees. Never equated it with safety, but it makes a lot of sense. I'll re-think these people. I believe Dr. M.M. Mead wrote about island attitudes as it relates to human nature. If you ever spend any length of time on islands like Hilo with the natives you get a good perspective of that "island nature". I always feel more comfortable with strangers or in public places when I'm back on SI, I don't think it's a safety issue, it's more a "I KNOW" type of thing. When you know where every thing is, and how it got there and who put it there you're apt to be more comfortable.
PS. sorry about you're car and purse.
