Bob, About da time I realized the opportunities dey kicked out all of da boys. I could have gone to St. Petes but I had had it with the religious training. Never had to take da religious classes but had to sit in the class and hear how I was doomed to hell as a non Catholic. Pretty scary stuff for the first 6 years of school. I was an excellent student at SJHA way ahead of the class when I transferred to PS41. Unfortunately things caught up wit me at New Dorp High School in da second half of da foist year. I made it through in 5 years and then went into da service and got my act in gear. Probably would have been better educated if I had done the St Petes route. May even have had a shot at being da foist Pope from Staten Island.
