Thanks for the book reference, I'll watch for it a my library. I use to devour everything written about the game when I was a kid, in the 50's. Lost interest in late 70's when I realized how the game's big city structure made it likely that a fan of a small TV area was doomed to disappointment with only hope for next year. I could probably name 350 of the 400 odd ALers in any given 50's year even now. But if you asked me to name 6of the players on todays Red Sox I'd be hard pressed. I love the game but unless they start the kind of revenue sharing the NFL uses and force the owner to use the money on salaries the next 50 years will be a repeat of the last, possibly worse.
