The last stop of my paper route was the ESSO station at the intersection of Arbutis Ave. and Hylan Blvd. The first time I ever went fishing was from a dead tree that hung into the lake you mention. The Staten Island Order of the Arrow Lodge that we were members of was named for the Aequehonga branch of the Lene~Lenape.
Please tell me more of the Lenape sweat lodges at Arbutis Lake and the book you mention.
I never used the library at Tottenville but do remember the very small one room New York Public Library in Huguenot.
