Besides the traditional spaghetti/macaroni's we knew as kids, the markets today carry alllllllllllllll shapes & sizes of "pasta". I've seen them with all kinds of "built in the pasta dough" stuff like vegetables, tomato, peppers and more recently I came a cross spice & herb flavoured.
I'm beginning to believe that "pasta" is the most versatile food base around.
