neither the new nor the old postings were ever sacrificed - they are still located either at the old address (www.SI-Web.com/forums/...) or in the new system's internal archive
the reason behind leaving the old format separate from the new one was based on incompatibility issues between the old & new formats, as well as the fact that there are *literally* over 20,000 files located in the old archives... but I'm sure in time we will eventually merge both formats into something even better!
regarding the new format, I believe only the first few weeks of messages have been "auto-archived" (mostly those posted when this new format first opened in July)... if there was a particular topic that was of great interest, let us know & we'll look into restoring it to the board.
