Business' with voice mail responses George Jaenicke grjaenicke grjaenicke@mindspring.com One of the most annoying things that happens on a daily basis is calling a business and winding up in one of these lengthy voice mail boxes. You know the kind, press 1 for this, press 2 for that etc.

It's really frustrating if the call that you placed is long distance. I don't find these helpful at all to the customer, they are just a means of a company saving money and not having to pay staff to operate a switchboard.

Business' that do this send a very clear initial message to me, "Your time is not important to us , sit and listen to all this hogwash". I personally will not sit and listen through all this crap, and usually take the time to write them a letter telling them so, forcing a response from them.

I don't know about the rest of you folks out there, but I certainly consider my time as just as important as theirs.
