Politics or family? C Connelly mcgil email@example.com
His "family" in Miami were all strangers to him before he arrived here. The child has a loving family in Cuba, a father, stepmother, half-brother (sister?) and grandparents. His father & stepmother were his primary caregivers and meet all the other criteria for custody (economics are not a factor.) I too work in family court, and without a doubt, if this case came before our court, the father would be given custody.
The politicians should concentrate on issues that concern them, and stop trying to pander to their Cuban voters. Let Elian go home to his family!
