What happened to my country Charles Schleininger corsair firstname.lastname@example.org
California voters have passed propositions to cut off welfare to illegals but the courts over ruled that. Today the state test scores from all 900 plus school districts were released. Not surprisingly those districts that have been in the forefront of bilingual education scored low. Maybe this explains why, because of the schools output of under educated students, the unemployment rate is so high, therefore the welfare rolls (the 1st. 3 children born in Fresno County in 2000 were to unwed 15 year olds). Say what you want but we have been, & will continue to increase the population of the poor, no matter what their background, unless we make our up coming generations proficient in the language of commerce. Maybe some day English will go the way of Latin, but for now it is the main world language.
