Garber Brothers Store Stanley J. Singer sjsinger firstname.lastname@example.org
Sounds like you are talking about my Grandfather, a native Islander who always wore a homburg purchased at Garber Bros. He also wore spatz (way before your time) my father hated hats but when he did wear one it had to come from Garbers. As for me I too hated hats and finally had to wear them when I went to college (Fordham, Wagner and CCNY) because my mother insisted all college students must wear them. It was a treat for us to get in the family car on a Saturday Afternoon and drive from New Brighton to Port Richmond, shop at Garber Bros. go to a little restaurant around the corner from the Richmond Theatre and than finish the night at the movie and than an ice cream parlor. I always wonder if my kids ever had the same grand time. Times have changed.
