My memories of that "restaurant" probably date to a period after its close. There was a "cafe" kind of operation there where hot dogs and hamburgers were sold on the side of the building where row boats were rented. The main building stayed empty for the most part.
During my fraternity rushing days at Wagner (1963), I attended a frat-sponsored "toga" party that was held in the old restaurant. I am sure this event lit up the lake like the good old days.
It certainly was not boring. In fact, my memory was so clouded by the libations we all consumed that I can only recollect that I attended. I can't imagine how I got home.
