I can remember a boring Boy Scout awards dinner there where they had a football referee describe the different function of the various officials during a game. I think of it whenever I want to get to sleep instantly.
The food was nothing to write home about, but the baked sunfish (fresh caught, the catch-of-the-day), was also terrible. Not as bad as the catfish, however.
P.S. This is why we refer so often to pizza, beer, and crumbuns, which, after hero sandwiches, was as good as it got on Old StatNisland. Also why some of us who've landed in other parts of the country where they have something you can call a cuisine, tend not to migrate back to the Island, among other good reasons, too numerous to list here.
