Plane Collision Over SI -website John Ritter JR firstname.lastname@example.org
A story that was told around the time of the plane crashing into Miller Field was interesting. It tells about the pilot who flew with the Army Air Corps during the war, and was assumed to be knowledgeable about the field in New Dorp. Remember, this is before the time black boxes and voice recorders or everyone 2nd guessing airplane crashes. It was assumed that the pilot knew he had a chance to land the plane, knowing that all would be lost. But, in his mind there was a slight chance that he could prevent any additional damage or loss of life. That's why he landed the plane at Miller Field. We wonder what goes through ones mind at the face of death and this story provided us an example or someone who faced death with the courage to fight to the end to save others.
