Plane Collision Over SI Anniversary John Ritter JR firstname.lastname@example.org
Larry Stone and I were born with salt water in our veins. We stopped at the top of the Hill by the St. George and knew rightaway that the fire was in the shipyard and that it must have been a carrier. The Conny was almost complete and had to spend another 18 months or so to get fixed and finished.
In 1984 I was on a USNS civilian ship and one of the cooks had been on the ship during the fire. Him and I spent a long night after a card game talking about the fire. I had been on the Forrestal right after it had burned as an evaluator of the ships operations department and it was the 1st ship I had seen with considerable battle damage. It reminded me of the USS Franklin hit in the last days of WWII and the USS Princeton that was not as lucky.
