I don't remember ever laughing on the subway, but I remember laughing so hard that I was completely unable to read something aloud. It was some old piece written by Robert Benchley, and I think it had to do with learning new words, such as "to corbel." (I forget just what that means but I think it's to do with bricklaying or masonry.)
