I don't know much about the hotels/motels on Staten Island today but I do know that not to long ago one of the SI Web members went to Staten Island and stayed at a Bed & Breakfast around the Ft. Wadsworth area and she was quite pleased with the accommodations and the price. At the time I did a search for and was able to locate it on the web - I would say give them a call, explaining the circumstances and if you're going to be on SI for an extended period of time during your wife's treatment they man just work out a special rate with you seeing as it's a medical needs situation.
