One Senior Rep, "Sweet Old Bill" (SOB), was during a stint in Japan. One of the aircraft developed a hydraulic problem. The problem was traced to a crunched hydraulic line. Since the Navy's hydraulic shop was closed that day, Bill went to the other side of the field where Nippon Airways had a facility. He met with one of their hydraulics mechanics, showed him the blueprint and asked: CAN YOU MAKE ME A NEW JUST LIKE THIS (holding up the defective one). He was told to come back the next day for the new line. The following day the Japanese mechanic proudly held up the new line, built to spec., with a crimp in the same exact place.
