About thirty years ago an aunt in Westerleigh sent me an article from the Advance. It was about the curator of reptiles at the SIZoo, a woman whose name, I think, was Dr. Patricia O'Connor.
I believe the article said that the zoo housed the only complete collection of North American rattlesnakes in the world. And it seems to me that the number of different species was presented as 31--which doesn't sound like many. I mean, you'd think other zoos should have been able to come up with complete collections if there are only 31 of them to collect.
I guess they must be slippery critters.
