What I find interesting here is that I don't think that stuff was Arabic at all. I studied Arabic only briefly, and a long time ago, but I know that the quotations in the list are definitely not classical Arabic. Possibly some dialect, but I doubt that "American" could yield "Amrikahey" in any dialect. Maybe I'm wrong.
The interesting thing is that if it isn't Arabic, it certainly seems to be intended to suggest it.
The only thing I can still say, after all these years, is "Waqaftu marratan bibaabil maktaba": "I was standing one day in the doorway of a bookstore."
