My late husband was also in the Mount in the 40's and 50's, he and his brothers were placed there, as their mother had passed away. They had come from Brooklyn. He told me they were very strict. I remember passing it as a child on Sundays and all the children were in jeans. It was not a happy time in my late husbands' life. Two of his brothers were quite young so they were adopted out, this made it difficult for the brothers.
