SubTitle: vindication

It took a while, but I found the grave to the patriot, Ichabod Crane, who fought in the American Revolution. According to
"Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots" (Vol. 1)
CRANE Ichabod (buried) Pres Cem, Morristown NJ 32
If he was killed in battle, (or if he is buried there for other reasons)he could well be the Col. who served with Washington Irving's father. He could be the father of the Ichabod Crane buried in "Son Rise" on Richmond, and the source of the story of Irving's character in "The Headless Horseman".
I'll keep searching for infomation to confirm the story, since
I've always been intrigued by the local connection with the legend.
