I lived at the corner of Trantor Place and Walker Street in the early '60's. The house was built in ..........I am led to believe.........the 1850's..............I recall.............in 1962.........an old man..........then about 85............who had told me a story that General Joe Hooker..........and/or his child(ren) owned the entire tract of land along Trantor Place from Walker Street to Hooker Place........and, when he was a child, he was asked to clear out the attic of my house......I suspect in the 1890's or so.........and in so doing.............he cleared out old Civil War memorabilia. I recall finding in my yard.......and attic........war medals, as well as silverware, which I still possess, with the initials engraved thereon as "JH"......blew my mind. But..............I would love to find out more from anyone with true knowledge...........or who can point me in the right direction.
