Anyone remember Frank's bake shop in Tottenville (corner of Amboy and Sleight)? His christmas stolen was most excellent. Never have had anything like it since. Frank won numerous awards for his cawfee cake and different pastries. That kind of old world baking is unknown out here. After church and esp. during xmas week the place was always packed. take a number. the smell of all those baked goods is seared forever in my memory.
