SubTitle: More on Richmond Town
Posted by: Lee Shake (lee@lakeshoreconn.com) on 7/10/1997@02:31hrs:
Does anyone remember a barber in Richmond Town by the name of Gene
Pontillo? He was already pretty old in the 1950s, but perhaps not as
old as his parrot. Gene was a Grand Opera Buff and if you visited his
Barber Shop on Saturdays, you would probably be treated to a radio
broadcast of the New York Opera Company and often Gene would sing
along (with his rich tenor voice) filling his sweet-smelling shop with
truly great sounds. Gene Pontillo was also a credible artist, who
painted in water colors. He made many paintings of Historic Richmond
Town in it's earlier stages of development.
