Marcene, The first pizza I ever had was at a place on Clove Rd. in
Sunnyside circa 1944 or 5. It was in a bar. The bar was in one
room and the restaurant in another. It was on the left, going
toward Victory Blvd. Can't remember the name. I lived down the
street on Price St., which ran into Clove Rd just above
Richmond Rd. It was only 1 block long. My house was just below the
big white "castle" with the "moat" on Emerson Hill. Remember that ?
I was born in the "old" Staten Island Hospital in 1930. ( I under-
stand it is a condo now. The only other pizza I had on S.I. was
on Van Duzer St. in Stapleton. Best, Bob
