That is exactly the kind we watched. You have to remember that flying was still a novelty when I was a teen ager and earlier. It only became popular after the big war. I was born in Oregon in 1922 and on my fifth birthday we came across the states by train. They didn't even have any fresh milk in those days aboard and canned was all that was available. To this day I can taste it if used in cooking a pudding etc. Our train was taken across the Mississippi on a sea going train ferry and continued from there. I still remember when we arrived in New York City. Then again we had to get off in New Jersey and came over by ferry. What a sight to a five year old. I can imagine how the immigrants from Europe must have felt seeing it for the first time. Oh Boy talk about memories, see what I mean about these pages and what they mean to an old gal like me?
