Okay, pizza came wid da paisanos. But what I think we're really asking is when did the first pizza place open up? Let's see, there were probably restaurants that served pizza, and maybe bar-restaurants, but this may be one and the same. Dedicated pizza joints, that's what we're talking, no restaurant, no bar attached. Like Nunzio's. Although, on second thought, a casual place where people stopped in with friends for a pizza and a pitcher of beer will count. Okay, now that we've defined our terms, what's the earliest pizza joint anyone can remember without checking the archives in the basement of Borough Hall?
