1. Ringaleevio is a game...see the responses
2. "Making his bill": this was term used by SI Advance paper boys..see the responses. Question: how did the kids who delivered the Sunday Star Ledger make their collections...does anyone know?
3. Pier 6, a.k.a. Cromwell Center was the indoor basketball Mecca for a lot of SI kids. It gave them the opportunity to play pick-up basketball indoors, a big plus in the winter. Who remembers some of the "street" BB games where you used a bushel basket nailed to a telephone pole for a hoop? Remember how diligently we scraped (and even chipped in for rock salt) to get the snow and ice off the street court ? ( a helluva harder than we did at our own parent's house!)
How about your first pair of "KEDS"? They were a far cry from Nike "Airs" ...I think they cost less than $10 and by the time you got them broke in, (ie: your blisters turned into callouses) there were holes wore in the soles from the constant abrasion of the street's surface.
4. The best store bought Italian bread is going to be a tie between Stanzione's and Zinicola's....since no one else responded, we'll have to assume silence means acquiescence. (Isn't that how Clinton got to be president?)
5. "21" and its' variation "Horse" were played with a basketball...see
the responses.
