Does anyone remember a day back in 1965, when day turned to night in the middle of the afternoon? At the time, I was a kid in Sacred Heart School in West Brighton. During class, the sky outside our window gradually grew dark as night in a matter of minutes. It remained like this for about 10 mins, and just as gradually returned to normal. This was neither an eclipse nor a storm. I believe that the SI Advance called it a "freak" temprature inversion. I suppose that the reason I remember it so well is that our teacher freaked out, thinking it was Judgement Day. (she put on quite an entertaining little performance, as I recall)
