When I was in school on the Island (not "in" the Island, as someone from Bkln wrote) I went to the dances. Maybe I saw you there. Maybe I danced with you, if you were female and cute.

They played fast dances, called Lindy's or Jitterbugs. Then maybe a cha-cha. Then a slow dance.

"Silhouettes" was one. Perez Prado played the cha-chas, "Tequila," perhaps. "Peggy Sue," was a favorite.

What did y o u dance to, and was he/she as cute as my dance partner?
