My fellow SI expats in SF at the Caffe Roma (across from the Hall of Justice, which is what we call the Hall of Injustice)are well aware we talk funny, that is, compared to real Californians and people who speaka da' English as she is spoke by Da Queen. The one in England, not the queens in San Fran, about whom we worry very little.
We sometimes put on an exagerrated or mock SI accent, not to be confused wid' Da Bronx or Da Brooklyn accent, especially the ladda.'
Someone will go ("say") "Are yiz ready for anudda cuppa kawfee?" The only proper answer is "Yeah, shuah, tanks." In English, this is Yes, sure, thanks, as you may recall. There are any number of words, expressions, pronunciations that evoke SI like Frances's Madeleine, or Nunzio's Pizza (this is, after all, SI, not Paris).
Can you recall any, or do they have to pop out naturally without forethought, like "Quit bustin' off!" or "Watch out for the stoop."
Let's see if we can collect a few here, even if they're scattered throughout. See ya, gotta run, gotta make a ferry! -r-
