SubTitle: Leaving SI
Posted by: rs on 12/13/1997@12:30hrs:
Young men are taught to grow up and be a man. This often translated to a desire to see the world and seek your fortune, as they used to say, away from SI. In my case, I traded SI for SF (San Francisco); not a bad trade, as I view it. I spent summers as a lifeguard at Great Kills, Midland, and South Beaches. Of course, after I got settled in California I spent a few bucks getting to the beaches in Hawaii (the Pacific Ocean water is way too cold (50-55 degrees F.) in Northern California to swim in without a wetsuit).
What was your experience in getting off the Island? Would you consider returning to live? Or need I ask. -r-
