Apart from Nunzio's pizza and SI Ferry hot dogs, and Sunday morning crumb buns, SI high cuisine consisted of ... w h a t ?

Did you bring a sandwich or two to school? I did. My Old SI recipe for baloney sandwiches is two slices Wonder Bread, buttered, several slices of primo baloney, preferably sliced at the butcher store, mustard, relish, and lettuce, wrapped in w a x paper (this is pre-Saran wrap, folks), enclosed in a brown paper bag. Bought a small carton of milk at school for somewhere between a nickel and a dime.

What did you bring for lunch?

We can also do breakfast, dinner, and going out to eat on the Island. When we're done, we'll have the Old SI book of recipes that never killed anyone, except if they ate it long enuf.

Remember the watchword, "Satisfying and Filling." -r
