Arrochar
Northeastern Staten Island once inhabited by Leni Lanape Indians. Its
name is derived from an estate built in 1840 by W.W. MacFarland
who emigrated from Arrochar, Scotland. His house is now the oldest
building on the Saint Joseph Hill Academy grounds. The above came
from an interesting web site on Staten Island History.
