12 December will be the 37th anniversary of a catastrophic mid-air collision of two airliners over New York City. What was the Staten Island connection? What airlines were involved? What type of aircraft collided? Where did the accident happen? Where were the planes headed? What was the selfless lifesaving event remembered by Staten Islanders? On the 12th remember those lost in this tragic event.
